The main witches in the series are:

Esmerelda Weatherwax, Gytha Ogg and Magrat Garlick. Also included on this page is Nanny's Cat Greebo.

Esmerelda Weatherwax (Granny)

Where Nanny was the Grandmother you wouldn't mind visiting, Granny is the exact opposite. Granny is the unofficial leader (for want of a better word.) of the Lancre Coven which includes, Nanny Ogg, Magrat Garlick and sometimes Agnes Nitt. Granny doesn't use magic, she uses what she calls "Headology" which is sometimes a lot more difficult. She has on occasions participated in something called "Borrowing" where she enters the mind of an animal as somewhat of a passenger, seeing and feeling the same sensations as the animal in question. Granny is not a woman to be trifled with.

Gytha Ogg (Nanny)

Nanny can best be described as the Grandmother you didn't mind visiting when you where little and told you dirty jokes when you were in your teens. She's also a witch in the coven of Lancre which includes, Granny Weatherwax, Magrat Garlick and sometimes Agnes Nitt. Nanny is matriarch of the Ogg Clan in Lancre has numerous children, many grandchildren and probably heaps of great-grandchildren. She cooks and cleans... well that's not entirely true, she inspires cooking and cleaning in others even though she is the author of "The Joye Of Snacks" As with the other witches of Lancre she's decided that she doesn't need to use magic or that magic is somewhat beneath them. Unless it's something really good... Heh heh heh.

Magrat Garlick

Magrat is in essence a wet hen. She is also the youngest of the Lancre coven of witches which includes Granny Weatherwax, Nanny Ogg and sometimes Agnes Nitt, oh yes and she's the Queen of Lancre. All of the above puts her into a difficult position. How does she act...? Well she acts just like she always did, very much a woman in the century of the fruitbat, doing witchin' the modern way with fancy candles and runes, you know, the right magical ambiance.

Greebo

Greebo is Nanny's pet cat. He is a vicious, spiteful, vengeful and rather lustful personality. Due to a spell put on him he can now change between human and cat forms. Whilst in human form lust radiates off him and he dresses rathe like a buccaneer. To Granny a cats a cat whatever form its in. While Nanny still thinks of him as Mr. Fluffy.
